Review Methodology

AlverHub doesn't employ a team of reviewers who manually "test" every tool — with thousands of listings, that claim would be dishonest. Instead, every tool gets two independent, fully computed, and fully explainable scores, described exactly below. Nothing here is an AI-generated opinion or a subjective star rating we assign ourselves.
Quality Score (0–100)
A deterministic score built from twelve real, observable signals about the listing itself — never a guess. Each signal contributes a fixed number of points toward a total of 100:
- Description quality — 15 points
- User reviews (count and rating) — 15 points
- Real traffic activity (views and clicks) — 14 points
- Bookmarks from real users — 10 points
- Logo present — 8 points
- Screenshots present — 8 points
- Recently updated — 8 points
- Working website — 5 points
- Categorized — 5 points
- Tagged — 4 points
- Pricing model known — 4 points
- At least one social link — 4 points
This score is used to break ties in default sort order and feed ranking — it is never edited by hand, and a paid or sponsored placement never changes it.
Health Score and grade
A separate, ongoing signal that answers a different question: is this listing still accurate and the tool still online, right now? It blends the Quality Score above with completeness (are all the important fields filled in), live link-checking (is the website currently reachable), and how recently the listing was fully re-verified. A component with no data yet — a link that has never been checked, for example — is left out of the average entirely rather than guessed at a fabricated middle value, so a brand-new listing still gets an honest score based only on what's actually known about it.
Pros and cons
The pros and cons shown on a tool's page and in comparisons are generated from simple, transparent rules applied to real fields — for example, a free or freemium tool gets "Free to use" listed as a pro, and a tool with zero reviews gets "Limited user reviews so far" listed as a con. These are never written by an AI model and never phrased as a personal opinion — they're a direct readout of the underlying data.
Star ratings
The star rating shown on a listing is the live average of that tool's real, submitted user reviews — recomputed from the actual review rows, never set manually.
