Flux

FLUX (FLUX.1) is Black Forest Labs' official open-weight image generation and editing model family, distributed with minimal inference code for local use. The lineup spans several specialized variants beyond basic text-to-image: FLUX.1 [schnell] (Apache 2.0 licensed) for fast text-to-image generation, FLUX.1 [dev] for higher-quality text-to-image under a non-commercial license, and further [dev] variants for in/out-painting (Fill), structural conditioning from edges or depth maps (Canny, Depth), image variation (Redux), and prompt-guided image editing (Kontext), including LoRA versions of the conditioning models. The models can be run locally via a pip-installable Python package (with optional TensorRT support), or accessed through Black Forest Labs' hosted API, which also includes Pro-tier models not released as open weights. Commercial use of the open-weight [dev] models requires a separate license with usage-based tracking built into the reference code.
