Ggplot2

ggplot2 is an open-source R package for creating data visualizations based on the Grammar of Graphics framework. Users supply data, map variables to visual properties with functions like aes(), and choose geometric elements such as geom_point(), scales, facets, and coordinate systems, while ggplot2 handles the rendering. It was created by a team led by Hadley Wickham and Winston Chang, with Thomas Lin Pedersen as current maintainer and Posit as copyright holder and funder. Released under the MIT license and distributed via CRAN or GitHub, ggplot2 has reached stable status after more than a decade of use by hundreds of thousands of people, and has a large ecosystem of extension packages for specialized chart types.
