Google Agent Development Kit (ADK)

The Agent Development Kit (ADK), developed and maintained by Google, is an open-source framework for building, debugging, and deploying AI agents that autonomously handle multi-step tasks using AI models and tools. It supports multiple languages including Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, and Kotlin, and offers Graph Workflows for combining deterministic code with AI reasoning, multi-agent orchestration and collaboration, and advanced context management that treats context like source code. ADK includes built-in tools such as Google Search integration, custom tools, and OpenAPI integration, a visual builder and command-line interfaces, and observability and evaluation capabilities. It supports flexible model choice across Gemini, Claude, OpenAI, and local models. ADK is open source, with deployment costs depending on the chosen infrastructure, whether self-hosted or on Google Cloud.
