About Goose

Goose is a native, open-source general-purpose AI agent for coding, research, writing, automation, and data analysis, available as a desktop app, CLI, and API. It recently transitioned to the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) at the Linux Foundation, becoming a vendor-neutral, community-governed project. Goose offers native desktop apps for macOS, Linux, and Windows plus CLI and API access, and connects with 70+ extensions β€” including databases, APIs, GitHub, and Google Drive β€” through the Model Context Protocol. It supports 15+ LLM providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Ollama, and more), including existing subscriptions via the Agent Client Protocol, and offers portable YAML recipe configurations teams can share and run in CI/CD pipelines. Interactive UI components let extensions render buttons, forms, and visualizations directly in the desktop app, and built-in security includes prompt injection detection, permission controls, and an adversary reviewer mode. Goose is open source under the Apache 2.0 license with no commercial tiers.
