Kept

Kept, made by E-Group Labs, captures conversations from AI chat platforms and archives them locally as searchable markdown files. Conversation capture saves chats from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and Kimi with selective storage via an inline trigger palette, and local search and retrieval offers full-text indexing and semantic search across archived conversations, filterable by platform, date, and message volume. Cross-platform access means anything that reads markdown can use the archive, including text editors, ripgrep, and Obsidian, and MCP server integration exposes the vault to compatible clients like Claude Desktop and Cursor for read/write/search operations. Knowledge organization auto-clusters conversations by topic and entity extraction to surface related discussions, and bring-your-own-keys support works with OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenRouter, or runs entirely local with Ollama. Kept is completely free with no premium tiers, released on GitHub under the MIT license with no waitlist or account requirement.
