Poolside (Laguna)

Poolside is an AI research and engineering company building open-weight foundation models purpose-built for agentic coding tasks — understanding, reasoning about, and generating code autonomously. Its Laguna model family includes Laguna S 2.1, a 118B-parameter model with a 1M-token context window optimized for quality, speed, and efficiency at mid-size cost, and Laguna XS 2.1, a lightweight 33B-parameter model with a 256K context window small enough for on-device deployment. Models are available through OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway, and dedicated desktop/CLI interfaces, with runtime systems and IDE-like tooling for interacting with them. Poolside publishes detailed technical research on model training, evaluation, and optimization techniques.
