Off Grid AI, built by Wednesday Solutions and open source under the AGPL license, is a private AI application that runs entirely on the user's computer, enabling chat, image generation, voice, and document analysis without cloud services or accounts. It supports text and vision chat with streaming and a reasoning mode, running at 15-30 tokens/second on a flagship Mac, and local text-to-image/image-to-image generation using Z-Image-Turbo and SDXL-Lightning. Voice features include on-device speech-to-text (Whisper), text-to-speech (Kokoro), and a hands-free voice mode. It works with any GGUF model from Hugging Face plus curated options like Qwen, Gemma, Llama, and Mistral, and lets users upload PDFs and documents to chat with cited sources.
