Orange, maintained by the University of Ljubljana, is a free, open-source data mining and visualization platform using visual programming — you connect widgets on a canvas rather than writing code — currently at version 3.40 with active development shown by May 2026 blog posts. It supports exploratory data analysis with interactive visualizations (scatter plots, decision trees, hierarchical clustering, t-SNE/MDS dimensionality reduction), plus extensions for text mining, network analysis, and domain-specific data, with widgets specifically designed for teaching.
