SurrealDB

SurrealDB, founded in 2022 and used by enterprise customers including Samsung, Verizon, Tencent, PolyAI, and Saks Fifth Avenue, is a unified data layer for AI: a multi-model database handling documents, graphs, vectors, and time-series data in a single engine. Its Agent Memory feature (in early access) builds persistent memory for AI agents by assembling context from conversations and existing data systems, and GraphRAG combines graph traversal with vector search. SurrealDB supports native knowledge graph modeling with nodes and edges, ACID transactions, a distributed architecture with multiple write nodes, and SDKs for Rust, Go, TypeScript, and Python. The database is free and open source under a self-serve model with no sales requirement, available on GitHub, with enterprise options for organizations needing security review or procurement support.
