Tamamon

Tamamon is a free macOS desktop pet, made by a solo independent developer as what they describe as "a tiny solo project," that hatches and evolves through pixel-art growth stages (egg, baby, adult, evolved form) based on your actual Claude Code usage activity — never accessing your code itself, only usage metrics. It supports multiple creature species with distinct evolved forms depending on how you interact with it, interactive care mechanics (feeding, playing, decorating a habitat), a shared "dex" tracking which creatures you've collected, a multi-pet habitat room, and menu-bar integration that stays visible above other windows. It's completely free, with optional Ko-fi tips accepted but never required; the app is currently at version 1.0.1, was featured as a top Product Hunt post, and requires macOS 15+ on Apple Silicon. Good fit for a Claude Code user on a Mac who wants a lighthearted, gamified visual reflection of their coding activity rather than a purely utilitarian dashboard.
