Agentcad

agentcad, built by James Dillard as an open-source (Apache-2.0) project, is a CAD platform enabling AI agents to design, render, and export production-ready 3D models, giving agents immediate feedback loops through metrics and visualizations to refine geometry automatically without human intervention. It runs Python scripts and produces versioned STEP files with geometric metrics, generates real-time PNG preview renders from multiple angles after each run, and offers design verification with side-by-side version diffs and overlay visualization. Multiple export formats — STL, GLB, and OBJ — support 3D printing and web viewers, MCP integration connects with Claude Code, Cursor, and other coding agents via a .mcp.json configuration, and a pre-built agent skill enables seamless auto-discoverable integration.
