GitMCP

GitMCP creates a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for GitHub repositories, letting AI assistants gain deep context of a codebase by reading its llms.txt, llms-full.txt, and README files. Users simply replace 'github.com' with 'gitmcp.io' in any repository URL to enable AI tools to access project documentation and code, with no complex setup required. It's compatible with multiple AI platforms including Claude, Cursor, and VS Code, and works with both regular repositories and GitHub Pages sites. GitMCP's own source code is open on GitHub at github.com/idosal/git-mcp, and the service is free to use with no pricing or payment information presented anywhere on the site.
