About VibeBox

VibeBox, built by Finn Sheng and community contributors with source code on GitHub, is an open-source sandbox that lets AI coding agents safely execute commands and make code changes inside an isolated virtual machine, protecting the host system from unintended harm. It uses Apple's Virtualization Framework for isolation, achieves warm starts under 6 seconds using cached base images, and lets agents run tasks and patch files inside the VM. Resources like CPU, RAM, disk, and mounts are configurable via a vibebox.toml file, and sessions are logged and auditable through a .vibebox directory. VibeBox is set up and operated with a single command and is open-source, available at no cost.
